Dear Kristen,
Use the link page for this BB & ask your question of the competent Herbologist listed there.
I am not a good enough herbologist to advise you but I would be astounded if oil of oregano could hurt you. As a matter of fact, I am surprised that your doc would recommend stopping such a safe & effective agent (for you).

In his book CHRONIC CANDIDIASIS. Michael Murray discusses
enteric-coated volatile oils and quotes research that found
oil of oregano 100 times more effective than caprylic acid.

I have just started using Spanish Oil of Oregano (Thymus capitatis). Currently using for chronic sinusitis; fungus/itching of legs below knee (not on feet). Container cautions: Not intended for internal use. What is the best method for application. Some progress seen. A drop under tongue works well on sinusitis. Need advice as my only source to date is a homeopathic radio broadcast. What literature do you suggest?

Dear Martha,
WOW! Thanks. I had missed that one. I have a lot of respect for Dr Murray. I hope everyone reads your note.

Dear Dr.
I recently listened to a radio program telling of all the good things that oil of oregano does for the recipient. It reportidly cures everything from worts to asthma to leaky gut syndrom. Can you offer anything in the way of helpful information one way or the other? Thank you. Don Sr.

i am not sure what oil of oregano will do but i have seen MSM lotion dissolve warts over a few week period.

Dear Stephanie,
Eventually, we may come up with something that actually acts outside the placebo effect for warts. NO ONE has found one yet. I see nothing wrong with using anything that "works" so long as it has no toxic side effects.
There are thousands of stories out there about stuff that miraculously cures warts. Nearly all of them are things that one puts on the wart. So far, ALL of them have been proven to be placebos. Our bodyminds have a powerful way to heal ourselves. Why deny it?
Partly, we deny it because that self-healing power makes no money for the medical monopoly. The AMA has had nearly 100 years of a monopoly to brainwash all of us into thinking that we MDs have a corner on healing. Our insistance that the wart's resolution came from what we put on it is part of that brainwashing.

My dad is alergic to bee stings and needs immediate treatment if stung by a bee. My question is, Can he take bee pollen tablets? Thank You for your time and effort in answering this questionP>H.

Dear Phillip,
IF your dad has a normal gut lining, there is no danger. As a matter of fact, feeding bee venom to people with allergies like this used to be one of the ways to resolve the sensitivity.
HOWEVER, since most people in this country now have SOME degree of Leaky Gut Syndrome, this is probably risky for him since the allergens can be leaked through the gut wall unchanged.
I would suggest you read everything you can find (use search feature & archives) about LGS on the website. THEN, get him to look into resolving his LGS.

Hi Walt,
I seem to have missed something -
Should one take Fish Oil capsules at the same time as taking Flaxseed Oil?
Is there a balance to be struck between the three / Fish, Borrage and flaxseed?

Would love to hear opinions about these minerals drinks out
now that have"plant derived" from humic shale down in the southWest region of utah claiming that this was a prehistorici forest and all the minerals that are good
for us are found in this region. The second part of this question is ...things like aluminum, cadmius, lead, and titanium are a few of the questionable minerals in these
drinks, how safe it that?
In Reply to: Fish oil vs Flaxseed Oil and borrage oil posted by Deryk Bramwell on March 01, 1998 at 08:43:19:
Dear Deryk,
What you are looking for is a combination of omega 3s,6s & 9s. Omega 3s (fish oil) have a lot of benefits on their own. However, as we learn more, we see that we have a lot more TO learn & all 3 of the above have their place.
If you will read the following link: Essential Oils. you will learn the exact chemical names you need to look for on the jar of whatever you get. There is nothing magic (that we know of) about fish oil OR flaxseed oil. The reason I have switched from plain omega 3 fish oil is that the flaxseed oil has all three and has less potential for mercury contamination.
Hope this answers your questions.

Dear Patricia,
It sounds like yet another expensive marketing ploy to me.
When I lived in northern New Mexico, I heard about more allegedly miraculous "foods from the earth" than I care to remember. Tried a few of them. None of them worked. I think I would have been better off practicing skilled relaxation while sitting in a mud bath.

Dear Patricia,
One of the major factors reducing our resistance to environmental toxins is the reduction in our horsepower due to trace mineral depletion.
I wish there was a trace mineral supplement that did not have some of these heavy metal contaminants. If anyone on the BB knows of one, I would like to know.
It is my opinion that the benefits of adding the trace minerals far exceeds the additional risk of the trace heavy metals (of which we have a much heavier exposure already in our environment). The trick is finding a product that is easily absorbed since most people in our culture are already not healthy enough to absorb minerals efficiently. One should consider ionic or crystalline trace minerals. The label should list about 70 trace minerals in the product.
I am open to learning a lot more in this area.

My turn to be the patient! Dr. Stoll I had my little spots looked at and it's seborrheic keratoses, thank goodness.
Any insight as how to prevent more or get rid of what I have. I started visualization again this week and there has been slight if any improvement. I'm way to young to be getting age spots so there must be a missing link.
In Reply to: My turn to be the patient! posted by David Ferguson, D.C. on March 06, 1998 at 16:57:22:
Dear Dave,
How do you do your visualizing?
There are a number of things that will combine to give you the most effective approach to SD.
Using appropriate doses of essential oils (internally) can resolve these things all by themselves. Remember that it takes 4 weeks for the body to totally replace the skin. SO, once the appropriate doses are present, don't expect your full benefits until about 6 weeks. You would probably notice some changes in a couple of weeks. See link:
Essential Oils.
I have seen quicker results in SOME people by combining vitamin E oil with aloe and DMSO (topically about twice a day). Were it me, I might use either the essential oils OR the topical to see which worked best in me. However, it makes sense to think that combining both would work in a larger % of people.
Finally, there is good evidence that these things are also caused by our body's losing its ability to withstand free-radicals in the skin. If THAT is true, taking about 4 grams of ESTERIFIED vitamin C (2 grams twice a day) with at least 800 units of vitamin E (once a day is fine) daily could resolve these all by themselves. Obviously, combining everything is likely to work in the highest % of people. Experiment or quick; your choice.
How about just using topical on one area and watch the differences between treated and not treated?
Please let us know what you do & how long it takes to work (as well as how well which works). There are LOTS of people out there who would like to know how to reverse these things (SD).
Many times the most successful books are those that specifically target one thing. How about this? "Be Done with Seborrheic Dermatitis!" How could I fill an entire book with this note? (very big grin) Perhaps the new edition of my book should have a section for short specific descriptions for various conditions like this. I could title that chapter something like "shorts for you or your friend" (another vbg).

My visulization is just by waiting until I am "there" during skilled relaxation and visualizing the healing of the area and it's return to normal. I try to focus all the energy into that one area.
BTW, when one of these keratoses disappeared for about 16-12 months I was lifting weights a lot and cosuming much more tuna than I have since then. It may very well be the missing link for Omega 3 I need. I will try eating tuna a few times a week and taking vitamin C. 1000mg/day.
What are the natural sources of Omega 6? What I mean are food sources rather than jsut taking Evening Primrose Oil, Black Current Oil or Borage Oil?
Thanks again for the input. I really think the tuna is my answer and I should have seen it before. I also recall much less dry scalp problems during the time I was eating more of it.
In Reply to: What are the natural sources of Omega 6? posted by David Ferguson, D.C. on March 08, 1998 at 12:28:04:
Dear David,
I agree that, in nearly all cases, we would be better off getting our essential nutrients from natural sources since we do not yet know what all the "essential nutrients" are. Stuff we don't yet know we need are most commonly found in association with those things we already DO know about.
HOWEVER, this is mostly true over the long haul AND before a problem is already present. Once a problem has already reared its head, most people need a much larger dose than they can get from eating foods containing what we already know about, in order to resolve the problem. THEN, once the problem is gone, preventing recurrence is best done by knowing which foods to eat and changing the lifestyle sufficiently to do it.
SOME people will actually resolve problems like this by just doing the food thing. The reason I recommended the dose levels I did was so that everybody doing that dose would see sufficiant results to know they were on the right track.
The best reference I know to answer your questions about foods containing omega 3s & 6s is Udo Erasmus' classic: "Fats & Oils". I hope you will share with the BB what you learn about which foods so others might move in that direction for prevention.
Your experience with the tuna might well predict that you would need a lot less than the doses I have recommended for "certain" clearing for nearly everyone. However, remember, as we get older, the same dose that resolved the problem before may not do it now.
The fact that you have them at your age indicated that you have to have at least a genetic susceptibility to the lack of these oils causing skin conditions. Usually that genetic susceptibility extends to other organ systems having a similar susceptibility so, taking the recommended overdoses may well change how well you feel in other ways.
Let us know what happens.
