I just wanted to say thanks for the advice Dr Stoll and kmd! I like that I can at least put a name with the problem. However, I forgot to mention in my previous post that about a year and a half ago when this first came up (smaller and softer then) I was told by a good friend that he had experienced something similiar and he suggested the "book method". I had my fiancee take a (very) large book and hit the cyst. It did break up the cyst and in the process bruised my arm all the way past the elbow. But in a few months the cyst had returned and grew larger and more solid. I have been afraid to repeat this method although it worked the first time. Would the surgery be my only method of removing it? Would it hurt to repeat the "book method"? Thnak you both for your advice. I plan on researching this fully and have already been put at ease by having a name for it. I love this site!!!!

Hi, Desirae.
No, I would not try the "book method" again.
Likely surgery is what you need. There has to be a pretty big rip in the tendon sheath and, without closing it at surgery, the cyst will likely just recur.
IF you ever get another one you will need to learn what causes them and that information is on this 'site.
Let us know how you do.
