I have been a long time sufferer of what was diagnosed by several dermatologists as being Tinea Versicolor. However, 8 years later, I explored other options at a large academic facility and it was quickly rediagnosed as Confluent and Reticulated Papillomatosis. I would encourage all long time sufferers of Tinea Versicolor to explore this option. I had been hitting my supposed Tinea Versicolor with anything I could find, Sporonox, Nizoral, Selenium, Selsun, and other topical antifungals with no response. If you are a long time sufferer, maybe yours is also misdiagnosed? My doctor said, "Either you were misdiagnosed, or you have the world's worst case of Tinea Versicolor."
I know how frustrating it can be attempting to treat all of the little spots and blotches. Go to a different specialist and see if they can do something else. Tinea Versicolor should not be that difficult to treat.
Good luck.

Thanks, Anon.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I have consistantly suggested a biopsy for an accurate diagnosis for any TV that is hard to treat since IT SHOULD BE EASY!

Confluent and Reticulated Papillomatosis....isn't that a
fungus as well? And how do you treat that?
I was told that CRP is a more severe form of TV. Is that
true?
