I looked this up in The Merck Manual, and was not able to find it. Is your spelling correct?

Okay, I think the correct spelling is "prurigo nodularis," but it still is not listed in Merck Manual.

Hi, Norge.

This is an example of the games physicians play by giving conditions new names every few years to keep the public in the dark. The proper name for this is "neurodermatitis" and it is caused by stress storage in the hypothalamus. Docs like to see the patient's eyes light up when they pronounce a strange new word the patient has never heard before!

Instead of your getting ulcerative colitis, migraines or arthritis, you show this by itching. If someone tied your hands so you could not itch, this itching would disappear within a few days. The damage done by your fingernails, however, would take a month to heal and the scars would be there for years.

Why the hell your docs do not explain this to you is beyond me!

You have to deal with your stress-effect to cure this (wellness) and that will take you at least a year. You may also have candida (C-RS) as a consequence of the stress-effect but you will not know that for at least 6 months of the serious wellness. In the meantime your docs will likely treat you with a tranquilizer.

See the archives about stress and about wellness.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt

After reading Dr. Stolls answer, I looked up neurodermatitis.
Hmmm, it sounds like THEY don't know what causes it. Dr. Stoll's explanation makes sense.
