Dr. Stoll,
I had tinea versicolor and I used Nizoral shampoo to treat it. Now that its gone, I was wondering if it was safe to use on a daily basis, or does the fungus build a resistance to it if its used too much. I enjoy the effects it has on my hair and would like to continue washing my hair with it daily. Is this a bad idea?

Hi Curious,
I found that you need to rotate medicated shampoos because they lose their potency. I find that Nizoral leaves the hair soft and smells good too. I like it better than all the other dandruff shampoos. I don't know if your using the Nizoral for a shampoo because of a scalp problem, but Zincon is good too.

Hi, Curious.
In my opinion. simple buffing with bathing and drying is more effective, cheaper, and safer that using the Nizoral forever.

Dear Curious,
I have TV around my nose, can that be cured with Nizoral?
Thanks.

Hi, Not.
TV just around the nose is unheard of. Have you had a reliable diagnosis?

Dr. Stoll,
Pardon my limited knowledge, but I am guessing this is TV. It sounds like it.
I see these viens around my nose that developed due to acne.
Am I mistaken?

Hi, Not.
Probably not TV but could be beginning rosacea.
Get a diagnosis by having a competent doc examine it.
Let us know what you learn.
