Good day,
I am having a type of skin irritation on my neck.
i believe it to be a kind of fungus, it is on the sides of my neck and also the collar crease area, it itches often, and at night time it gets extremely worse.
need some advise on how to beat it, can an overthe coutnter antifungul do the trick, which is best for sensitive skin on neck?
any other way to beat it?
I also have seborric dermatitis and use seslun blue for that..

Hi, Beckham.
Probably a contact dermatitis. What else do you wear around your neck?

I have stopped wearing jewlery, but that was way back.
I believe it to be more of a fungus, as i have dandruff / sebhorric der.... .
Doc what is the mildest form of antifungal that i can use on the delicate skin of the neck and for how long should i use to kill it, just in case if its a fungus.
do antifungal creams have any side effects?

Thanks, Beckham.
Remember that laundry soap, softener, anti-staic stuff, etc., are common causes and that around the neck is the most common place for it to show up.
The best way to tell would be to use 1% hydrocortisone (OTC at Walmart isd the cheapest and best) cream at least 3 times a day (sparingly and rub in well) and see if the rash will respond within a few days. If it does, it is contact dermatitis. If not, you might try any of the OTC antifungal creams which have no side effects and are as effective as any of the "prescription only" antifungal creams. The difference is that it will teke a couple of weeks to see results from this trial.
Let us know what you learn.
