Using Selsun and getting whiter

My husband has had tv as long as I have known him, and each year it has gotten worse. He has tried creams, pills, and to no avail. I have read about the selsun, which I might add, I can only find 1.% or 1.5% not the 2% needed. But he has been using it, and scrubbing his skin, then using an alpha hydroxy after each bath, but the spots are getting whiter than they were before, and they seem to be spreading like wild fire, what can we do? They are beginning to spead to his neck and jaw line, and we would really hate for it to get on his face. He is a golfer and in the sun alot, we just need some advice.
Thanks a bunch! Nicole

Hi, Nicole.

The 1% works fine. The 2% is by prescription only.

Give it time, there is no way that this can make him worse. Remember, if he had not been buffing himself dry in the past, he is now buffing off tanned skin, too.

The most efffective time for the "buffing" is as he dries himself. Just do not try to do all the buffing at one time. It is the more gentle buffing daily that eventually resolves the dead skin problem the fungus has been living on.

Patience.

Walt
