About 2 years ago a mole a little smaller than a pencil eraser popped up on my nose (in the corner where the nostril meets the cheek). The mole is not colored, but it is raised and looks kind of like a pimple or a wart. My dermatologist said that it was a mole and it appeared to be benign. Because of its not very noticeable I didn't have it removed. Now I have another mole the same size and characteristics on the top of my nostril where it is very noticeble. What can I do to keep more moles from appearing on my face and why are these moles targeting my nose??

Hi, Wicked.
If I were on your position I would insist on having them both removed and sent to the lab for a pathology report.

Will do Dr. Stoll. I'll let you know what I find out. I had to wait 3 mos. for my last appointment with the Dermatologist so it may be a while before I get any info. Thanks!!

I can't believe that your dermatologist didn't just remove them. I went in last week because I had a mole appear on my back about a year ago, and he shaved it off. It is painless and only takes about 30 seconds. Then they send them off to the lab to be tested. Good Luck!

Thanks, Kimberly.
It is even MORE important on the nose since there is just skin over cartilege and so anything must be treated MUCH earlier there.
