I am trying to get rid of this fungus (just on the lower part of my back) and have read the archives. I have the following questions:
1)Is it possible to use a cream or ointment at night only on the weekends (I sleep over at my boyfriend's house)in combination with the selson blue (messy) during the week and have successful results? Is there a non-perscription one you would recommend?
2)You have mentioned wellness several times. I exercize, drink water and take vitamins everyday. I also eat very health (fruit/veggies/fish). Is it possible that a medication I am taking (aldactone) is causing the fungus? I take a high dose and it blocks male hormones at my skin level for acne.
3)A doctor told me once that any clothes that have not been worn for 6 weeks will not have fungus on it. Is this true?
4)To scrub my back, I use a plastic material that looks like a long rectangular piece of gauze (has gridlike gaps). It is excellent and doesn't ever grow mildew. Is it possible to reuse this in the shower with selson blue everyday since it is not made out of any cloth?
That's all. Thanks.

Hi, Charlene.
In order:
1. Why not use Nizoral cream the whole time? It is available OTC and is pretty inexpensive.
2. Using aldactone for acne is like hunting for mice with a shotgun. Look out for "collateral damage". Why not use wellness to resolve both?
3. No.
4. Pretty safe. You might want to run it though the washer about once a week with at least a cup of chlorox in the water, though.
Hope this helps.
Walt
