For the doctor -selsun regime specifics needed

Please answer this and don't point me to the archives!!! I am about to embark on a month of Selsun and wondered...
1) Is the 1% effective or should I use the 2.5%
2) How liberally do I need to apply it ( a thick or thin layer)
3) How much do you rub it into the skin, or do you just apply it and leave it competely on the surface?
4) Is daily bed linen washing necessary?

It only took me a couple of minutes to get to these:

"The only 100% cure for it that I know of is to smear selsum blue all over the areas and leave it on over night (messy) and rinse it off in the morning (but not thoroughly). Do this every day for a month and you will see benefits in a week. HOWEVER, if you stop it in less than the 4 weeks it takes for the skin to replace itself, the chances of a relapse are significant."

and

"If this IS tinea versacolor, the treatment is Selsun Blue applied over the area and left on overnight (messy) for at least a month. You have to prevent it from growing while the skin replaces itself.

In the meantime, sterilize your clothes and bedsheets (toward the end of the treatment).

In the long run, wellness will make you resistant enough that NO amount of exposure will cause it to recur. Why don't the rest of us have it???? The fungus spores are everywhere."

Walt wrote these in response to other's questions.

I got rid of it without ever sterilizing my linens or clothes, but also did a whole foods diet.

Yes, but I need specific info ie how thickly to apply, and whether or not to rub into the skin or just leave completely on top (wouldn't that just rub off on clothing). That is why I wanted the doc to reply

Emma,

I did not "rub it in." If you keep rubbing it, it gets sotr of powdery and falls off. I am not sure what you mean by leave it completely on top. It's a liquid..you put some on your hand and smooth it on your skin. It's not that hard to do! Just make sure you put it all over the area, and as far as it getting on your clothes, I used to let it dry before putting any clothes on, but it is a bit messy.

Some people react to it with burning and red skin - stop using it if that happens.

Good luck
