I just wanted to pass along some info on using Neti pot for conditions mentioned in the subject line. Some people in a yahoo group said that they use Neti pot with great success. They said that it works just like the web site describes.

it's so much easier, and more effective as far as I can tell! I know folks who've used a neti pot and prefer this because you don't have to tilt your head so far, and the water doesn't get on you.
I've posted this before, but here it is again...
I use one of these myself and recommend them to anyone with sinus troubles. My aunt-in-law avoided surgery with this thing!

I prefer the primitive technique of snorting warm water through each nostril, letting it sit a short time, then gently blowing out the results. No equipment is required, and it works wonders, especially in the very dry climate where I reside.

Hey Labs,
Nice to see you back. Since I haven't attained perfect wellness yet, would you recommend this for relief for stuffy noses from colds or the odd whatchadoozie?
Be well,
Sounder

Serious question here - how does one not gag doing that? I don't mean in mindset - I mean, how does it not run down the throat? I'd like to try it, but being a klutz with this kind of thing, I'd fear I'd be wearing the pot on my head with solution running down my auburn tresses. LOL

I used an eye dropper but then I Spike the salt with hot
pepper and squirt it up my sinuses when needed.

I guess, just by trying it. Many can do it, and maybe you'll be one of them.

I find that keeping my mouth open makes all the difference - I guess it closes the gap with the epiglottis or something.

labrat, do you recommend buying just the bottle or mixture packets too? It appears that the mixture can be made by easily practically for free.

I find that mixing half and half bicarbonate of soda and sea salt works fine (and is a lot less expensive).

Well, being the lazy rat that I am, I buy the premixed packets, but you certainly could just mix it yourself! I don't think they're that expensive.
The bottle is so cheap and I think it's really a superior design than the others I've seen. It comes with 10 or so packets I think, maybe to get you hooked on the convenience!?
