I've had this problem for well over a year now thinking it would just go away, and I can't seem to get a answer from anyway. I probably should just go to a doctor, but I would like some opinions first. The right side of my jaw pops when I yawn, and sometimes when I chew on hard things. I've been having a problem with my right ear where when I hear just slightly loud, high pitched, or high toned noises, my ear starts to crackle and distort. My ear seems to feel weird when I open my mouth wide as well. Could the jaw problem be linked to the ear?

Hi, David.
The single most common cause of chronic, undiagnosed, ear symptoms like yours IS far advanced TMJ---which is what you have. Go to the glossary, home page and search engine about TMJ and ear.
Then, if you still have questions, use the archives.
THEN, any more questions should be addressed to this BB.
