Hi, Kelly.
First of all, it is the responsibility of the doc who ordered the MRI to explain this to you. Docs are not just supposed to take the money and run! After all, the word doctor means teacher. The problem is that since insurance will not pay for teaching, docs tend to not care if patients understand what is going on unless they insist. It is time for you to insist.
Next, this tells me that you have severe allergies causing most of your sinus problems and that surgery is not going to do anything about that. Also, changes like this are frequently aggravated by TMJ and masseter muscle bracing. The surgery will not do anything for that cause either.
You might even get temporary benefits from the surgery but you are just putting tape over the lights on your dashboard when you do that.
