after a day and a half of enough pain to think it could be an ascess, or
sinus pain (enough to keep me down) I took a hot bath in the evening
- husband had vicks in there for me to breath in the vapors...a few
magazines for me to browse through. did that w/ the facecloth on
face every now and then.
Then -
Went to bed early and read in bed, talked to sister. While talking to
her I moved my jaw around (had been all day sort of stretch it from
pain) and the jaw sort of released and did not "pop" but made one of
those sounds you know something happened.
I felt the tension release, and now after being awake a few hours - I
feel great.
I do feel it was all muscular and do feel muscular pain can GIVE you
sinus issues (even tooth) by bracing and not allowing drainage.
Whatever pop I did, also drained the sinus(s)....
Always, always, look into muscular even if you are convinced it is
something else!

The question is, did the sinus pain & congestion cause you to brace in the head and neck area, or did the bracing cause the congestion?

There is no question about it that the bracing was first.
The pain started at the jaw, (hours) then to the teeth (which is why I
thought it was a tooth issue) and then stayed at jaw, teeth and went
to sinus above right teeth and a bit to the back of the neck and head
on right side.
If it were sinus pain that causes bracing, the sinus pain would have
remained even a bit; a sinus that is inflamed would be so with or
without bracing.
It was a very obvious release within moments. The draining did not
begin until today.

Hi Michele,
It is absolutely true what you say. I don't know if you recall, but I
have had a lot of problems with my teeth and jaw from violin, and
then the car accident.
I had to take off the past year from playing, per the request of my doc
and physical therapist. My right shoulder was frozen from the
accident and wouldn't release, even with constant bodywork and SR.
Violin playing just made the whole thing ridiculous and I couldn't
heal.
In the year I took off I started to really work on releasing the shoulder
girdle, and it has come a long way, but in the process I have found
out the following.
When the shoulder became mobile again, it did something to the
muscles in my neck, cranials, etc......all connected, as you know. My
back teeth on the lower right side began to shift wildly and I began to
bang on them at night, as well as one one front lower tooth and the
two front bicuspids, and tooth pain in the lower back followed big
time. Long story short...a year later I am still dealing with it all, but
finding my way out of it. They would NOT do a root canal because
the dentist realized that the pain would come and go according to
what was happening within my frame. There was a constant pattern.
The wildest discovery, made by my holistic dentist, was that I have a
genetic situation going on as well. My muscles under my jaw (or
muscle fibers and nerves) are actually connected to my teeth. Hence,
all the issues with my teeth constantly moving from tension in my
neck from playing. Wild! But it makes sense. I am a mosaic xxx, and
now the holistic dentist and the geneticist at the MIND institute ad UC
Davis are hooked up and researching this further. It is a very rare
condition, but not unheard of. The dentist had learned about this
during school, but had never experienced it first hand with any
patients. He figured it out when the only way he could numb my back
teeth was to shoot the muscles under the tongue, directly, instead of
the tissues around the tooth. It took him one hour to numb the tooth.
He had almost forgotten about the abnormality, and was sitting there
scratching his head. Then the lightbulb went on and he went for it.
Bingo.
You are right though in your observations. Absolutely, and it isn't an
unknown to dentists that are educated past the routine. I had to
wonder how many root canals were mistakenly done instead of
structural work, let alone pulling of teeth. The pain in the tooth is
unbearable at times, so I can see why they would do it. What I found
the most interesting is how the tension shifted in my body, rather
than leaving my body. The shoulder freed up, and the bracing moved
upwards. I am seeing an energy worker to further the stuck energy
out of my body, out the top of the head. I had one session with a
worker such as this about 15 years ago in regards to stuck energy in
my left hip during a stressful time in my life. She moved the energy
in one session. The swelling was gone within 24 hours, which had
been there for 6 months. I am hoping for a similar outcome this time.
We will see!
Good luck with moving that tension out! Your obviously in touch
with the body. Congrats.

Forgot to say, I had sinus issues from this. It was all tied together.
The tension created the sinus issues. Kind of blocked regular sinus
drainage, causing slight infection. Cranials were part of this problem
as well as some muscles deep within the neck on the sides, very close
to the arteries. Under them, and hard to get to. But when you get in
there, the sinuses opened up and the tooth pain went away.

Thanks, dd, for sharing.
I hope others who are still doubting can benefit.
