I had my AC ducts checked yesterday because I've been having allergic-type symptoms (stuffy nose, constantly clearing my throat) for a while. Also, because Terri-Lynn advised me that I was reacting to something in my house. The technician put this cable with a TV camera on the end up the ducts and showed dust, but nothing really bad. Then he checked my air handler in the garage, and lo and behold, there was all different color fuzzy things inside (possible mold/fungus), and also in the duct just above it. He told me that was the source of the air circulating in my house, and that could be what is causing the symptoms. He recommended that I get the air handler cleaned and the duct above it replaced.
My question is what will happen once I have this work done? Will whatever is in the air disappear, or will there be lingering spores around? Should I get an air purifier, or will I be wasting my money, once the source of the mold/fungus is removed? Thanks.

It is a step in the right direction. However, it is only a step. It might be enough to get you far enough away from the edge of your cliff that your symptoms will disappear. However, more likely you will be worse for a short time while the stuff gets out of the system and then you will see temporary benefits until it starts to catch up with you again.
You will still need to become more resistant to what most of the rest of us take in stride and that means wellness.

Thanks Walt, I'm workin on it. I'll be paying Terri-Lynn a visit within the next couple of weeks, and I'm real excited about that. She's a wonderful caring person. She put together a real comprehensive report for me from information she got from me over the phone. Incredible! There should be lots more like her.
