Toenail fungus -- Vinegar treatment TESTIMONIALl

Posted by Willa on January 08, 2003 at 01:14:59:

In the hopes of inspiring other suffers, here's my TESTIMONIAL about the vinegar treatment for toenail fungus.

It's only been 10 days since starting the vinegar toenail fungus treatment on my husband. I'm posting this so soon because I'm afraid I will forget in the press of my day-to-day affairs to share the WONDERFUL results.

I'm not even sure what my darling husband has is a toenail fungus but his toes' response to the vinegar is noticeable in only a few days.

I've yet to get a definitive description of toenail fungus; my husband's big toenails are (were?) very thick, and after his bath they had a thick white gooey substance underneath the nails. They are painful at times, and trimming his toenails was an unpleasant ordeal. If I touched them the wrong way, by putting even a slight pressure on the top of the nail, he let me know how painful it was. Cutting them would take two hands to be able to put enough pressure on the clippers to make them snip through the nail, which would flake off and leave jagged pieces. It was painful for him to even have me run an instrument under the nail to clean out underneath and forget about the edges and corners, which seemed to grow down into the skin.

Up to this time I had no idea he had a fungus; I'd never even heard of the term "toenail fungus." I just thought he had very strange toenails but they were getting worse and we'd even had to buy him some new shoes with rounder, larger toes to keep all pressure off his toenails. Then, I happened upon a little article in the newspaper about sticking one's toe in a lemon overnight to get rid of toenail fungus and that made me start wondering about my husband's toes. And then I happened upon this wonderful site.

It's been about 10 days since starting the vinegar treatment (2 drops on the base of the nail twice a day). Hubby, who is a retired optometrist, was skeptical, but deigned to let me administer the vinegar. I made a slight mistake the second day by putting some of the vinegar not only at the base of the nail but also under the nail, which led to a painful burning sensation which made hubby quite unhappy with me. He forbid me to place the vinegar under the nail again. I chaffed at the thought of not being able to take the vinegar just a little step beyond, but I again read the archives here and came to my senses: two drops at the base of the nail, twice a day--no more no less.

Now here's the interesting part: In the last few days there is no white goopy stuff under his nails anymore. I am able to cut his nails, dig into them on the edges and no howls of protest from him. The nails seem to be crumbling from the underneath and I've brought out large chunks of nail-type matter just from running my instrument underneath them. The difference in his reaction to my manicuring his nails is night and day. It's almost like working on a normal person!

How can I thank you, Dr. Walt? And how can I thank all the wonderful people who have posted on this forum? What a blessing you all are!

Yes, I know, we have a long way to go in hubby's treatment, but the astounding results, coming so soon after starting the vinegar treatment, just have to be shared.

THANK YOU!

Sorry to say, I've been trying the vinegar treatment for 5.5 months with no such results. My nail is as ugly and painful as before.

"If it sounds too good to be true it probably is" the old adage is right again!

Obviously it does not work for everyone!

Thanks, Aaron.

How was your toe "fungus" diagnosed.

You are right--nothing works for everyone! The average prescription drug is only 66% effective (with a 30% rate of side effects).

Thanks, Willa.

Obviously few people will get such dramatic results. However, his experience is a good example of how the worse the condition is the quicker symptomatic results will occur.

The reason for this BB is to spread the word that there ARE options out there that physicians are not telling their patients because of the monopoly. Your sharing will help that goal.

Namaste`

Walt
