Toe nail fungus

Sorry to say, I've been trying the vinegar treatment for 5.5 months with no such results. My nail is as ugly and painful as before.

"If it sounds too good to be true it probably is" the old adage is right again!

Obviously it does not work for everyone!

Hi Aaron:

Sorry to hear about your ugly nail. If vinegar doesn't work for you then you could try applying pure tea tree oil. That's also supposed to be a good fungicide.

Also, are you treating just the ugly nail or all your nails? I'm wondering if it's possible for the healthy nails to still carry the fungus and "re-infect" the bad nail.

Don't give up on your nail. There has to be a remedy out there that's right for you.

I have been trying the vinegar treatment for over a month, I have seen no improvement so far but I am continuing the protocol faithfully in the hope that in the next few months i will see clear nail at the base of my toenail. I apply the vinegar morning and evening everyday never missing a dose. i dont apply any nail varnish. and leave my feet bare evenings and weekends when i am home. If the treatment doesnt work, i will be the most disappointed person on this planet.

Hi Aaron,

Sorry to hear about your situation. Are you sure you have a fungal infection? I only ask because the Vinegar worked so well for me. But, it did take over a year in my case. Also, my toe was not that sore, so I am wondering if you have some sort of other problem.

I tried vicks for 4 months-nothing-switched to tree tea oil that worked in about 4-5 weeks- I could see normal nail at base-BUT I developed a rash on both toes that moved up toward my ankle(allergic reaction)-scared me so I went to foot Dr. He started trimming the nail and it fell off exposing new nail beneath.

My toenail was tested or biopsied or whatever-definately fungus on 2 toes. He wanted to put me on orals-no way!My regular MD put me on statins(for Chlores.) almost killed me!! I didnt go back. Got disgusted and did nothing for a while and the new nail became infected. Tried tree tea again- imediate rash( 2days).

Tried vinegar-nothing so far(5.5 months) will continue for another month or 2 then ???

Tree tea works no doubt in my mind but some people are allergic like myself. Vicks maybe (I may have given up on it too soon!) but it's messy as heck-it gets all over everything- I ruined a couple pair of shoes.

If you haven't seen a little white at the base soon I'm afraid your results will be just like mine. It either works or it doesn't! A couple months should show some results. that should be enough time to grow at least 1/32" of nail. I just trimmed 1/4 inch off for the second time. That's 1/2 inch of nail. It doesn't appear to be working for me. Tree tea oil gave me white at the base in 4-5 weeks.

Aaron.

The root of the toenail is at least 3/4ths of an inch from where you can see it. It takes at least a month or two to grow that much nail so no one should see healthy nail until they have used the vinegar for at least that long.
