Color of Toenail Fungus

Posted by Ronny Jay on July 22, 2003 at 15:13:04:

Hi Dr. Stoll: I have been following the vinegar treatment (along with tea tree oil) to cure my little toenail of fungus for the past 15 months. Thanks to you, my toenail fungus is gone. Before, the nail was thick with a yellowish discoloring and had white "crud" underneath the nail. The nail is now normal thickness with no crud. However, there is still a yellowish tint to this nail. Do you know why and will it go away? I believe that the fungus is gone. Is there anything else to help the yellowish tint so that it will go away so it can be light pink along with the rest of my nails. Thank you so much!!

Hi,

I think you should carry on with the vinegar for while yet. You have been very lucky that the crud has gone, but I would not say the fungus has completely gone. Carry on for another three months, just to make sure. Carry on until your toenail is back to normal colour and even then a little longer.
