vinegar toe fungus treatment question

Posted by Ian on August 14, 2003 at 17:26:57:

Do I drop one drop on top of each toe nail? Or do I need to get it under the skin? Thank you, I really hope this helps, it is embarassing but if I can get rid of it it will be worth it. Also, what about getting my nails wet during swimming? Should I just apply another dose of vinegar after?

I have a spinal cord injury so my mom will help me, but I'm supposed to be going to a physical rehab/living assisted center in october, I hope that someone there will be able to help me to continue with my treatments.

I put the drops at the base of the nail, were new nail grows in from. I am using about three drops per nail. I put them on in the morning, after work and before bed. Any yellow looking part of the the toenail is ware the nail has seperated from ther nail bed. If someone can help you that part can be trimmed off. Keep the foot as clean as posible and exposed to air when ever posible.

Hi Ian. I've been doing this for my hubby's toes for about eight or nine months. We use a couple drops at the BASE of the nail where it grows out from the skin. I've got little bottles filled with vinegar all over the house. I've even got some in a large spray bottle that hubby uses when he has to do it himself (which is rare as I think he loves having me down on my knees at his feet LOL). When he does it himself, he sprays his toes with the spray bottle and doesn't have to bend down too far. When I do it I put a couple drops or a splash if it's one of the bottles with a larger spout on the base of each toenail and sort of rub or spread it around the base of the nail and let it air dry.

Once a week or so I give him a mini-pedicure after I've done the vinegar while his toes are still wet. It mainly consists of digging the crud out from under the nails, scraping at the cuticle and snipping here and there.

He's had absolutely fantastic results so far, he's still got a ways until the entire nails are grown out, but what has grown out is pink and healthy. The pain from his toenails has gone away completely. He marked his nails with a magic marker (looks kinda funny but he's a funny guy) so we can see how far they've grown. I'm really getting excited to see the change, they're over halfway grown out.

Where it used to take me both hands to cut through the thick nail, now I just snip snip like a regular person, although they're still thick as they haven't grown out completely. You MUST be patient though, it's not a quick cure and there is no quick cure anyway, you have to be patient and you have to be disciplined and do it at least twice each day and never miss a day if you can help it. If you do, you will just have to keep the treatment up for longer. Yes, we missed one or two doses ; - (

Maybe someone at your new home will help you and give you the minipedicures like I do for hubby and maybe you can do something similarly nice for them in return. I really like doing it, it's interesting watching the change in his toes and makes me feel very good knowing I've helped the pain he had from his toenails.

Hi Ian,

I put about 2 or 3 drops on the base of the nails and rub it in just slightly. I would defintely apply vinegar after swimming. Make sure you dry your nails really well and then apply the vinegar immediately after.

I've been doing the vinegar treatment for a little over 4 months now and my nails are totally growing out normal. Just be sure to stick with it and not to miss a treatment or you'll have to start all over again.

I used cayenne pepper in salt water and mine stopped
spreading. I apply it when I think of it which is about
3 times now. I used hot sauce once which had just cayenne,
salt, and vinegar in it.

It really works...there are tons of testimonials in the archives. I had all 10 nails infected--they're all growing out pink and one nail is already completely clear and healthy again. I had the fungus for 5 years before treating so the fungus would have been quite stubborn, but the treatment is working all the same!

It's great (and cheap!)and has worked for my dad and friend as well.

Every remedy I've tried of Dr. Stoll's has worked 100% of the time for me.
