I have the toenail fungus on all 10 toenails...my Podiatrist had ground off my nails with a Dremel tool it got so bad...tried Lamisil...really affected my eyes...I stopped that, and started treating my toes with vinegar last April......2-3 timex a day at the base of the nail...it's sure looks like it is working...my nails are about 60% grown out...and the "fungus" appears to be under control.
Question....??..one my nails grow out to full length again, and assuming the fugus is not visibly present...what should I do regarding the fungus to not reappearing...continus the vinegar...if so, how often....
Thank You

I also have the fungus in all my nails and I would say to keep using the vinegar even though the nail looks cured because that is what Dr Stall says to do. It takes a long time and a lot of patience.

What kind of vinegar have you been using? I use tea tree oil and it's been very helpful, but it seems a little harsh on the surrounding skin of the toe.

Hi, John.
If you have dealt with any of your susceptibility factors, when the nails have looked normal for a couple of months, you should be able to stop the vinegar.

Madge, I also used tea tree oil for my toenail fungus. The surrounding skin on my toes broke out in a nasty rash. The skin then proceeded to crack, so I had to stop.
I've been on the vinegar treatment for a little over two months and have just begun to see new, clear growth. I use white distilled vinegar with a 5% acidity level, and the skin around my toenails is doing just fine. This treatment and its protocol is so easy, it’s unbelievable. Good luck!

Hi Mage, I believe that tea tree oil is not as good as vinegar, because I also have the fungus in my finger nails and I use vinegar on my finger nails. But I have been using tea tree oil on my toe nails and I can't see any difference in my fungus on my toe nails. But I see a big difference in my finger nails. I have using vinegar on my finger nails for about 4 months and I have using tea tree oil on my toe nails for that long. I am thinking about changing to vinegar for my toe nails. I wanted to see which would work better and I believe that white vinegar is better. It is much cheaper I have spent about 25 dollars on tea tree oil.
