Hello Joanne, I think you posted a few days ago about this? and six or seven people replied thoughtfully and at length. I spent a little time and effort on my reply! None of the replies were acknowledged by you, if it was you...you might like to take on board fellow BBers advice (one or two of which were that a year is not long enough). I'd assume that if Walt hasn't replied it's becuz what he would have replied with has already been said by others. Your 'confusion and hurt' would definitely be contributing to the condition I reckon so do take some comfort and solace from the rest of us, can't hurt!!!!

Thanks, J!
I agree completely. The only thing I might add is for her to let us know what are her susceptibility factors.

I don't eat any yogurt, because the fungus flares up. I never heard anyone else have this problem with yogurt.

Thanks, Kathy.
It is exceedingly rare for there to be cross-sensitivity of candida with other fermented foods but it does happen.
I just am of the belief that eliminating fermented foods from ALL C-RS patients just to find those few, is not productive. Eliminating fermented foods makes an already complex diet a LOT more complex. It is silly to complicate the lives of 10,000 people just to find one that has this problem. In my opinion, it is best for those people to discover it like you did.

What do you mean when you say your "fungus flares up"? How can you tell?

Carol, I had a nearly cleared up big toe nail. I had ice cream at a neighbor's one night and found out the next day it was yogurt ice cream. I had avoided yogurt, because of previous flareups. Two days later, I saw the white edge growing again on my nail. I came to the conclusion that it was the yogurt. I guess I'm one of the few that, also, gets canker and mouth sores from all the pain meds I've tried to take, especially the Ibuprofens, Naprosyn and the like.

For those of us who suffer from toenail fungus, The only cure is LAMISIL. Those home remedies do not work, I have had this condition for the past five years. I went to the doctor four years ago and he prescribed LAMISIL tablets. I saw improvement in one month. But I had a baby so I had to stop taking the medication. I went to the doctor recently and he prescribed LAMISIL to me again, it's only been a few weeks and I see improvement already. Please see your doctor and ask about LAMISIL tablets. In order to take these pills you have to have a liver blood test, where they draw one tuble of blood. There's nothing to it but to do it. Trust me on this one, I will be wearing sandals this summer. Please email me back if you have questions. Thanks.

You are clueless, either by your own accord or with the help of your doctor.
The literature says that Lamisil travels directly to the nail bed and cures the fungus. Funny thing is the literature also states that the drug stays in your system for weeks, even after only one dose, and it presents itself in breast milk, and can cause metallic taste in your mouth, liver and kidney problems, etc. So much for the drug traveling only to your tootsies :P
One more thing...the literature also is very clear that only 70% of the cases are cured using this product. That sure isn't a very high percentage considering the cost and amount of time it takes to potentially cure a nail fungus.
I do sincerely hope you have pretty toes this summer. I will continue to try and cure my one remaining ugly one, and enjoy my other beautiful ones that were cured by using the vinegar/tee tree oil protocol endorsed on this site.
