About 5 years ago I went to a podiatrist for an infected ingrown toenail, and after he took care of that, he prescribed Lamisil for my toenail fungus. I was aprehensive to take it because there were 3 pages of warnings in the directions for use! But I took it for 3 months and it worked great. The only problem was that within 6 months it came back. Now I have it on all 10 toes.
After stumbling onto Dr. Stoll's website recently, I started the vinegar treatment he recommended. That was a couple of weeks ago, around my 50th birthday. At first I used a dropper, but for me that was messy. Q-tips are OK, but they fall apart before I am done. What works best for me is a cheap child's paintbrush. I just paint the vinegar onto my toenails. It's easy to control the amount so there are no drips.
I plan on posting updates every month or so.

Good luck to you. I have been treating a fungal toenail I have had for 6 years now. The fungas is really stubborn too as it completely took over my toenail even raising it from the nailbed and deforming the nail itself. I went to my doctor who as well tried to put me on Lamisil. When I saw all the warnings and side effects I refused to take it. She told me not to worry because I was only 28 that nothing would happen to me. I still refused.
I stumbled on this site in Oct and statrted the vinager protocol on Oct 7, 2004. Well today Is March 1st so it has almost been 6 months now. I apply the vinager twice a day when I rise at 7:00 am and after my shower at 7:00pm. Never missed a dose yet---don't plan to either. It has become part of my daily hygeine--just like brushing my teeth. And I plan on doing it for the rest of my life to ensure that I never ever get it again. I use an eye dropper bottle----I personally find that the best way. I think that maybe the paintbrush apllication is too much vinager. You are not supposed to get your whole nail wet. Just 2 small drops at the base (the cuticle area). If there is spillage put a paper towel under your foot while applying--that is what I do.
Oh and in case you are wondering my nail is 50% new and fungas free. It will probably take the one year mark to have a complete new nail. My fungas was really bad though. Anyway best of luck to you. I hope I helped you in some way.

Since you can't miss a day, I agree it must become part of your daily routine. I do it after my morning shower and before I go to bed. The prospect of having normal nails again is kind of exciting. So is the idea that I'm thumbing my nose at those who want to keep me ignorant so they can take my money and expose me to potential harm. That should keep me motivated for at least a year!
The paintbrush I use is actually pretty small. When fully saturated it probably holds the equivalent of two drops from an eye dropper. The difference is that with the brush I can dab it on a little at a time instead of one drop all at once. That way I never get spillage.

will this treatment work for a nail that has been deformed by the fungus. i don;t really have a nail on 80% of my toe, only nail around the base of my toe. do u think the vinegar will help>>

Wow!!!! Vinigar worked on my toenail fungus.... I used vinigar faithfully two times a day... Faithfully and it worked.... I am so happy to see normal toenails again. I use a small hairspray bottle filled with Vinigar and I spray the toenails several times. Try it...... You need to be faithful everyday twice a day. I really saturate the toenails. This will be the first summer I can wear sandels.
