I HATE ATHLETES FOOT! I CANNOT GET RID OF, and its really putting a strain on my dating life!I have tried everything,
and found your website, and found a recipie on one of the
foot fungus posts, ( by Greg, 1998) which suggested Colloidal Silver, (which I happened to have recently bought that got rid of a sinus infection!)and just tried this remedy, first day, and my feet feel better already! Can the
anti-deppressives cause recurrant fungal infections? And can people, contract atheletes foot from my rug/sheets/floor? This "infection" is harder to bring up to my new b friend than asking him to take an AIDS test!! Can you believe it?!? Please help! : )

Hi Rose,
I'll try an give you what I know. First off, I take Sarzone for depression. It hasn't made my athlete's foot problems any better or worse. Some people just get it alot, when others don't. Secondly, most of the home remedies don't work for someone with chronic athlete's foot (meaning if you get it alot, tea tree oil and other things probably won't work) so I provided a link to epinions.com that provide info on most of the athlete's foot medications.
Go to:http://epinions.com/well-Medicine-OTC-All-Athletes_Foot

I KNOW how irritating it can be! The itching can be quite severe at times, but I wouldn't really understand how it could be ruining your dating, unless you we're experiencing the "itchies" during the date (it's happened to me a couple of times).
And finally, yes, it can be spread by contact with shower floors, bath mats and rugs but it really depends on that persons resistance to it. I get it constantly but my boyfriend has never had it all.
Like you've heard, get your shoes and socks/stockings off as soon as you can, keep your feet dry and try not to itch, as it usually spreads and makes it sore and worse and try some other otc's or go to a doctor if it doesn't get better.
Most of the otc's take a few days to see results and it will come back, if not treated twice daily.
I feel your pain, hope this helps
Cindy
ps. you be suprised how many women are getting it, these days

I think fungal spores are everywhere and if they get
between the toes and the toes aren't dry and stay wet it
will keep coming back. If the silver doesn't completely
solve the problem try cayenne pepper and salt water. I had
the problem off and on for years and one treatment 3 yrs
ago solved it for me.

Hi, Rose.

You not only have to be persistant for at least a month for foot fungus BUT you also have to eliminate the causes that allowed you to get it in the first place. You cannot expect to put out a gasoine fire if you keep pouring gasoline on it.

The chapter in my book says what those things are as does the fungus archives.

For example: the very thing you are taking your paxil and lithium for would also cause your feet to perspire more than normal. The medications have nothing to do with this but your basic diagnosis does. This is just one of the susceptibility causes.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt
