I have been having problems that no doctor seems to be able to help me with. I have these episodes where I get nauseaus, cold, shaky, diarrhea, then my blood pressure and pulse shoot way up. This lasts anywhere from 30 seconds to hours. My heart rate has gone up to 200 bpm before. I also have a rapid pulse upon standing..The docs have put me on a beta blocker for my heart rate but it knocks my bp too low and then I have symptoms from that. Now their solution is Flourinef..I don't want to be on all of these drugs. Dr. Stoll, do you have any ideas on what may be wrong? I have had all heart tests and that is ruled out..I am guessing it is my autonomic nervous system..one doc suggested postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome..I also have CFS/Fibromyalgia. This heart rate thing started one day out of the blue and has been happening everday since. I keep feeling these adrenaline rushes..I have had tons of blood tests and they can't find anything...Any ideas?

Just a thought. My sister had this same problem. The doc put it down to a virus, but I am not so sure. It may have been. However, at the time she was drinking coffee and since then she has not touched a drop of coffee. She used to like it really strong. She had also had alcohol on the day this started. She was on beta blockers for months because of this. All the heart tests proved negative.
It may be a virus but it may be a reaction to any kind of stimulant that you are consuming or an allergy.

Hi Suz,
Perhaps dysautonomia? Take a look at the dysautonomia archives and see if it sounds something like what's going on with you.
In any event, Practicing Serious Wellness could only benefit you. Read the article, "How to be Healthy" on the home page, then go further into the glossary and archives for details about how to do the practices.
It helped me -- a lot.
Best wishes,

Could be a thryoid problem, adrenal fatigue, or
hormonal imbalance. These are not easy things for the
average doctor to diagnose with standard tests. You
might want to seek out an alternative doctor who is
more in tune with dysautonomia type syndromes. Most
regular docs will just put it down to "anxiety" when they
can't figure it out.
Some suggestions for the short term:
Daily meditation (20 min morn & 20 min eve)
Magnesium supplementation
B-complex supplementation (125 or higher)
Evening primrose oil or other EFA supplementation
Aerobic exercise at least 3X a week for 30 minutes
No sugar, sodas, white bread, white rice or simple
carbs
It won't go away overnight with these things but you
should start to feel a little better by the end of 30 days,
and then it will get better from there. This worked
miracles for me, and I had the same symptoms as you
and more!
Take care.

Thanks, Elisa.
If everyone would follow those simple suggestions, half the medical/pharmaceutical income would dry up within a few months.
Is it any wonder why it is not advertised on TV?
Namaste`
