what do my symptoms point to?

Posted by kitkit [1606.4] on January 29, 2004 at 05:41:19:

i have a number of symptoms which i have a feeling must somehow be related to the same source but i have no idea what it is.

-body odor
- bad breath

(these two symptoms are creating chaos in my life. i read much about how they could be caused by digestion problems, poor colon function and yeast infections. but problem is, how can you tell when body odor is caused by poor body function and when it is "natural"? is there "natural" bad body odor? no body in my family has this problem at all and they don't even need deodorants or antiperspirants)

- bloating, gas running up oesophagus

this can cause a very very uncomfortable feeling, like you want to throw up. it's rather different from nauseau i think. it feels like there are "bubbles" running up to your throat.

- symptoms get worse after drinking canned drinks

i read that this could be caused by the sugar, but note that not all canned drinks have this effect. once or twice after drinking too much root beer i have this swollen feeling on my feet and hands.

- doctors listening to my stomach with a stethoscope said it was "noisy"

- persistent sore throat (on-off)

- white/yellow coating on tongue

i have noticed it gets worse when i eat biscuits and cereals or drink sugared drinks. i have been told by breath specialists that this is correlated to bad breath.

- sleepiness and lack of concentration

notably worse than when i was younger but then this is relative.

i am 21 now and have been having these symptoms for roughly 10 years.

notably it is the body odor and bad breath that bothers me most and led me to realise, after intensive research, that the other symptoms are symptoms.

from the archive i know about yeast infection and leaky gut syndrome but i am unable to figure out if i am a strong suspect. i think there's a psychological effect in that a patient wants to believe she has something cos she wants to know for sure what her problem is caused by. so i think i need an objective and professional opinion.

thank you very much.

Hi Kitkit,

I'm not a professional -- just experienced! You need to really study how to be healthy -- it will take care of all of your symptoms. I can say from first-hand experience that you will feel SOOO much better if you simply start eating healthy, whole foods -- NO processed sugar, flour, preservatives, additives, etc. (biscuits, cereal, soda = BAD!). After you feel a little better from eliminating these things, you'll want to learn more, like whether it might be a good thing for you to stop eating grains or dairy altogether; how to start practicing SR (meditating); incorporating exercise into your life, etc.

Start with Dr. Stoll's articles on the home page -- if you're feeling the way you are now (at 21!), you only have more of this (and worse) to look forward to if you don't start practicing wellness now. Wish I'd known what I know now back when I was 21!

Good luck, and let us know how you do.

Donna
