Dr. Stoll question

Posted by lovebird [20.15] on November 09, 2004 at 22:08:18:

Hi Dr. Stoll:
Today a had a check up with the rheumatologist and he was and is so amazed about the progress my body has taken and my hands show little inflammation. Overall it was a terrific report. So thanks...your student has done well and it shows.

He wants to see the SED rate lower than 114. How can I do that? I believe it was Ron here on the BB that said it can be done with antibiotic which I am taking. Any other ideas supplement wise or nurtrition?

Also I am still anemic. What can I do about that and what foods are rich in iron. Can I get it over the counter?

Also my visits with the eye doctor and dentist were both very good too.

It is neat to see how far-reaching good nutrition and supplements are and fun.

Thanks,
Lovebird

In 1999 I was walking 5 miles a day, roller blading once a week, I was teaching and active and outside playing one sport or another when I fell one day and my shoulder hurt.

I had never been sick in my life but I made an appt for a physical and asked for my knees to be x-rayed and blood tested.

The doctor said "You have RA" and it is ashame this wasn't detected 10 years ago because you already have damage to your joints.

I cried my heart out. I could barely walk and was bed-ridden for a very long time.

My husband and I struggled to get some control not knowing at all what would work. It was sad and heart-breaking for sure and because I was a jock I was particularly overwhelmed BUT determined to go on.

I found this BB and began to study more than I did than when I was in college. For me..........I love learning so I devoured the information here and asked questions.

Shape and Dr. Stoll became my buddies and I leaned hard on them and asked questions.

Mainly I wanted to understand what RA was and how to manage it in an alternative way.

So i began a daily discipline and routine what I would do daily if I saw a result or not.

I was overweight back then 280 and now weigh 130...so
I drink water, juice fruits and vegetables, take quality vitamins/minerals and added oils cod liver, flax and use only olive oil for cooking.

I did every cleanse.

I cut out sugar, flour dairy animals products and the weight began to fall off.

I exercise ev ery day, do Physical Therapy mainly by beginning in bed on the bed for safety purposes (because I fell once and lay on the floor along 8 hours)...I do leg stretches then...

I play beautiful music, sit outside to lookat the beautiful mountains (all of this helps me with stress).

BIG BIG BIG I don not and will not think negative things or get involved in conflict, gossip, small talk or let other's in my life who practice such things.

For example, I watch the international news for a moment but that is it. I love to laugh and enjoy funny movies and fun.

We have delicious foods cooking day and night and the house smells fabulous. Like vegetable soups, chili, stews.

I pray several times a day and am thankful and give to others when I can. Keeping my mind off of myself helps me understand how much worse things can be.

I did all the serious testing: colonostopy, heart stress, urine/stool, food allergies, eye exam, dental exam and now years later I have come through with flying colors.

I receently bought all new clothes and got a neat hair cut.

What is fun and amazing is: we can all influence others for the postive by deciding to set high standards for our life and be examples of an alternative way to disease . It gives people hope when then see me smiling an looking good and my grown children love to ask "so what's up with you guys"?

My husband has proved to me and others that he married me for better and worse....he holds me, helps me, covers me,and treats me like a queen and we have found a love so deep. e get along great and even with my crippled hands, feet he still chases me around and tells even waitresses.."this is my princess."

In addition I have fabulous friends (just a few good ones) I go to the chiro, massage, and my doctors love me and I dearly appreciate them too. We take them candy...even the pharmacy is cool.

I can't remember it all but here with Dr. Stoll and his team I am a new person full of hope and very thankful and still learning.

Love, Lovebird

You are soooooooooooooooo right.

Being grateful is so important. Many people feel sorry for me well I feel sorry for them because "they might be breathing but they are NOT living a full life" (I made that one up)...........but I like you hear the birds and appreciate the small things and avoid arguments or people who love conflict.

So I know now who loves me.

I am here to talk to and hopefully I can help

I enjoyed reading your journey to health, Lovebird, but had one question.

Did you practise SR and for how long?

Hi
I practice SR daily.

(For me, in my experience) relaxing was hard to achieve because of the on-going pain but I have applied proper nutrition to this body and lost weight and it is so clean inside that a attribute my deep peace and easy ability to relax to all of that.

I have maybe 15 CDS that are so calming plus a fragrant oil with mango in my bedroom right now.

I also have regular massages and get rubbed down daily.
