Leaky gut weight loss

On a whole foods diet for candida and have lost too much weight. Any suggestions on how I can put my weight back on. Will be on the diet for quite some time. I am 5'8" and I now weigh 125 lbs. Lost about 25 pounds. I eat lots of butter and olive oil with all my protein and vegetables. Don't do well with grains, potaotes, or brown rice. Any suggestions, I am way too skinny, but I do feel much better. I also exercise and practice a skilled relaxation technique.

Thanks,
Sam

Thanks, Sam.

When you are on the right track, the first thing that one will notice is a feeling of wellbeing. Healthy people are neither fat nor skinny. This, too, shall pass!

Congratulations!

Walt

Hello, I have been experiencing the same thing. I eat lots of healthy fats (and grains) too but am still losing too much weight. Don't know about you, but I think it's because I'm not keeping myself supplied during the day with stuff I can eat. I used to be a big snacker!

I've started taking much bulkier lunches to work. If you can't handle grains, try quinoa (maybe you've already heard of this) - is like couscous but is actually a seed and very nutritious. Raw eggs in a non-dairy protein shake, or just lots of soft-cooked eggs, meat, fish, sweet potatoes - I found it's not just weight, but energy too, and these are all helping me. Also, try non-gluten grains, like millet, buckwheat, amaranth. You may tolerate them better. There's pasta in health stores or flakes to make hot cereal. Or make your own pancakes with lots of butter, mmm.

And I've started eating oil off the spoon! Not nice, but hey ho...

Good luck - and if there's still no improvement, I'm sure we can gain a bit of weight when off this restrictive diet. Can't wait for a bit of goat's cheese, myself! :)

Hey kt, thanks for the response. Do eat millet, will try the other grains you mentioned. Do you have a recipe for your pancakes that you can tolerate. If so, can you please post it. Used to eat pancakes regularly with my boys, now it's just my boys who I cook the pancakes for.

And Dr. Stoll, thanks for the words of wisdom.

Thanks
SamIV
