Hi, just wanted to introduce myself and express my appreciation for this fine resource.
I've been visiting this bb for about 4 years and have benefitted greatly from the advice, stories, and general morale I've found here. I've hesitated to post for so long only due to my own shyness, but in the end I'd rather feel like I can offer something in return for what I've been given by Walt, Bill, and many posters over the years.
I just have to say that I have recently had incredible results when being committed to eating a WFD, and keeping up SR and exercise. Unfortunately I let things slip and it's been very difficult to get back on track. I realize that my power to heal is entirely in my own hands and this is a powerful and humbling concept to me. However, it's not a new one in my life. I have the fortune to have been raised in a family that understood and practiced a way of life that facilitates health and balance.
It has been a gift and a curse at once because I rebelled against the lifestyle for many years and that has been to my own severe detriment. I am learning slowly but surely to make the care of my body my utmost priority again, and I don't think I would have come this far without having the support of this board.
So once again thank you Walt, Bill, and countless others for being so selfless and sharing, and I hope that in some small way I will be able to return the favor and offer my own experiences so that others might benefit. No gift is greater than the gift of health.
Congratulations to Bill and continued healing thoughts to Walt. My deepest gratitude to you both.

Your post is very helpful to all us struggling ones. I share your gratitude for the board participants and especially Walt and Bill for making it all possible.

Thanks for your encouraging post. Please keep us updated on your renewed efforts. I am very much in the same boat, having recently slid for too long from a healthy diet for me and not doing my SR. Your post has helped remind me how much better one can feel by following the three-legged stool on a consistent basis. I'm back on track, but it will be a long haul.
You shouldn't feel shy about posting. We all have our own health stories on this board. Thanks again for sharing.

I appreciate the welcome and encouragement. It certainly is a long haul. I think it was Walt I've read before saying something to the effect that next year will arrive either way, so a year from now we could still find ourselves making false-starts and half-hearted attempts at health, or we could find that we have perhaps erased a year of past self-abuse and neglect with some mindful changes to daily habits.
Shaky paraphrasing I think, but I guess I'm trying to break into the mentality I need to recommit to my health, and to keep recommitting as often as necessary until I can say a year from now that I've finally learned a healthy pattern of living and absorbed a handful of life-sustaining activities that are integral to my daily routine.
Anyone else at the edge of commitment to health? I think it's high time I just really made the plunge for good. The last time I was doing great for 4 months with unthinkably good and far-reaching physical and emotional results. Matter of fact it was Thanksgiving that foiled me, so maybe this time if I start now...
