If it wasn't for Walt...

Posted by EarthMother [2659.1137] on July 01, 2006 at 09:02:26:

Thought maybe we could use a place to recall our testimonials.

If it wasn't for Walt I would still be running from doctor to doctor looking for pills and procedures trying to cure the disease in my body-mind. When what I needed to do was turn my attention and efforts to active wellness.

Presenting with dysautonomia (POTS), chronic fatique syndrome, epstien barr virus and panic disorder -- I followed Dr. Stoll's advice and began a program of serious wellness -- which included skilled relaxation at least 20 minutes twice a day.

More than two years later, my CFS and EBV are distant memories, the POTS is predicatable and much easier to manage and I am certain the panic piece of the puzzle which now only presents as habits of avoidance will also be replaced with new patterns of wellness and more life opportunities.

Thank you Walt for saving me from the health care crisis. Sending you white light with irredescent overtones.

Salubrious.

I would still have systemic candida and very little working knowledge of my body as a system. I would not be getting the health benefits of SR every day. I would feel hopeless because of all of my bad experiences with allopaths. Walt gives me faith in doctors who do care.

Yes,

I couldn't believe the first time we went to him that he sat us down and explained things to us about improving our health for a whole entire hour. Hints on quitting smoking, whole foods eating, SR, and on and on. He had us record the session and take it home.

It was kind of like Doctors used to do in the 1950's when they spent time with you, but it was different because even in the 1950's they didn't spend that amount of time.

And that book written with Jan is really wonderful.

Thanks EarthMother.

.... I'd still be totally miserable.

My quality of life was so poor because of the fatigue. I dragged through my day at work, dragged through the evening, slept poorly and woke exhausted. I had palpitations, muscle spasms, couldn't concentrate, was anxious and hypersensitive, my nervous system shook, and it felt like there was an internal war inside my body. I felt so poorly that I didn't have energy for friends and couldn't even watch TV. Almost everything was too much for me. With no health insurance, little money, and high stress, I wondered if I was doomed. Walt saved me by teaching me how to work on my health. Fatigue? I don't know what that is any more.

While I still have some digestive issues (my own fault for letting stress get to me), now my life is radiant and the health improvements have been a godsend. I am a totally different person than I was 5 years ago.

That is just in the health realm of my life. If I start to talk about how Walt made me a co-author and publisher, and supported me unceasingly through this process, I'm likely to cry.

Oh, dear Walt. Words fail this testimonial. So what I will say is I hope your journey's end is more wonderful than any of us could possibly imagine. I trust that it will be for one as kind-hearted as you.

Namaste`
Jan

Thanks, Earthmother (& Jan, Barbara & Susan).

Remember that you-all did all of the work; I just pointed the way.

Your testimonials may help point others toward climbing out of their pit if antiwellness. If so I will consider my sojourn a success. The goal of every good teacher is to see the student exceed his influence.

Dear Jan, Walt must be so gratified and moved by the messages you and others have sent his way these days, though I'm hoping they are all very premature. Not that it's ever too early to express appreciation. I wonder how you two connected since you are miles apart, at least now. Were you a phone consultation?
Have you ever met in person? (If you don't mind my asking.)

Hi Sally,

This is the first time Walt has said he isn't okay and has asked for white light. Since he has been such an important part of my life for the last 5 years, I do tend to react a bit when he says things like that. I know he has good days and bad ones, but it's really hard to know how he's doing. I too hope he will still be with us for a long time.

Walt and I did most of our work by e-mail -- sometimes many e-mails a day, for 5 years. I also went down to his house where we spent a week working together, plus we had some phone calls.

Best wishes,
Jan

Thanks, Jan, very interesting and the fact you learned and adapted much of his teaching without being that close is truly amazing. Five years is also quite a commitment. Congratulations on all your work!

I remember Dr. Stoll taping each dr. visit back when he was practicing in Kentucky. I didn't take the tapes home though. And he certainly "did" spend adequate time. There was no backing out the door while I was still asking questions like so many other doctor's do.

If it wasn't for beloved Walt, my life would have been a contemporary study in declining health and far less entertaining. Walt's attentive care and education halted my downward spiral back in the early 1980's and introduced me to a wide spectrum of empowering ideas and strategies (as well as diverse holistic practitioners). My relationship with my husband wouldn't have been as strong, either, as wellness has provided us a firm foundation to build healthier, happier lives for ourselves and for others. Because of Walt, my focus is on prevention and health instead of crisis management and illness. He's an angel in my life and a source of inspiration every day!

Love,

Kay

... it is honestly hard to imagine how the thread of my life would have played out. I sought Walt out in Lexington, KY oh those many years ago at the Holistic Medical Center for a newspaper article i was writing. A couple of years later, i started working at the HMC and look back on 20 years of irregular communication as one of the highlights of my work and personal lives. Not a day goes by in my current work and personal lives that his influence is not felt. There are a few people most of us can reflect on with gratefulness for their part of our lives. I met Jan thru Walt, another special person I have been fortunate to add to my network of influences and regard. Walt clearly is one of those special people for me and my family.

I'd like to offer that if it wasn't for Dr. Stoll I would be inclined to forget
that one person can realize enduring, profound change in the thoughts
and actions of countless strangers. Thank you, you've shown
unquenchable perseverence in the service of humanity. Your work
impacts far beyond what you could possibly know.

Health and happiness to you...
