Wellness testimonial (and the Egoscue method)

Posted by CharlesG [2243.3008] on December 11, 2006 at 02:04:16:

I've been working with the 3LS for only about six months now (and it was only a 2LS before I started the diet two and a half months ago). So far it has been nothing short of a miracle for me. I had all the usual symptoms of chronic fatigue, muscle aches, depression, anxiety, digestive disturbances, &c that I had been learning to manage for the last three and a half years. Nothing I did during that time has made near the difference that the 3LS has. I'm mostly saying that to give hope to people who are reading this board (like I was) and aren't sure if it is the "thing" for them.

These days I feel great. I have enough energy to work eight hours a day and really enjoy the work. Even more importantly, I have enough energy to exercise, cook, find time for SR and still enjoy time out with my friends. At my worst, I never thought I would ever feel this good again.

Last time I posted I was having trouble with some lingering muscle soreness and achiness. I have now found relief for that via the "Egoscue Method". Pete Egoscue has written a popular book called "Pain Free" that was recommended to me by a friend. I was skeptical, since I was in the mindset that my problems were being caused by nutritional deficiencies, but I gave it a shot. There is a clinic near where I live, so I tried a session. I was surprised to discover that they approach physical therapy like engineers. They look at your body, figure out which muscles are too weak, and which are too tight, and then set about showing you exercises that stretch the latter and strengthen the former. I've only been on the program a week and my muscle soreness is starting to be a thing of the past. My back pain is *gone*, the neck and shoulder pain is minimal and my legs feel like they've had weights detached from them.

For anyone else who has chronic musculoskeletal pain, I'd recommend giving it a shot. You don't need to go to a clinic, since the book has everything you need to get started. I'm lazy, so I needed a quick course to get me going. It has been much more effective for me than either rolfing (I did the ten sessions) or massage (which I still do regularly). I think that is because it is something that *I* can control and do every day for myself. There is a lot of healing power in that.

You know I have the same book and have used it for my back pain. I have not continued the exercises because I felt better. Am interested in the cost of your session? Do they allow you to go for just one? My daughter has alot problems with her jaw and ears and I tried to get her to do exercises, but teens...need I say more.
