Dr. Robertson's account of his harassment:

License was revoked after 50 years because Robertson Clinic was not main stream. Held hostage by licensing board--posse surrounded my house (40 armed men)--arrested and jailed. Out on bond and captured again in Florida--jailed there and in psychiatric hospital in Kentucky. Harassed and tortured in jails in Florida and Kentucky for first half of 1996. In period preceding jailings and court hearings, was bombed in car twice and shot at once. Now awaiting hearing in Ohio County, KY, even though the judge has been sued and recused.

Dr. Stoll's personal account of the trial of Dr Robertson:

At about the age of 85, after more than 50 years of practice, one of the finest physicians in KY was before the Kentucky Medical Licensing Board for a hearing about losing his license. His main fault seemed to be that he had just published a book in which he mentioned that functional abnormalities of colon metabolism had something to do with allergies and chronic sinus problems.

The board trotted out "experts" from the KY medical schools who testified that it was obvious that he was a quack because any "responsible" physician knew there could be no such connection. Of course, now, 10 years later, the majority of practicing physicians know about this connection.

At the time there were more than 50 of his patients, waiting in the wings to testify, who had experienced improvements in their long-standing allergies and problems with chronic sinus infections by treating their colonic imbalances. They were not permitted to speak. After allowing their "experts" to "testify" for several hours, I was allowed to speak in his behalf for about five minutes. I shared my experience that I had seen many patients improve with exactly this approach and suggested they listen to his patients. This was when I still foolishly believed that logic and facts made a difference with the board.

They still took his license. Not because of any justification, but because they could.
