Goals of the Stoll Foundation - Part One

December 13, 2011 11:45AM
Hi everyone,

Sapphire asked me to post a message with the goals of the Stoll Foundation. I have many possible goals so I will answer this in several threads. I'd like people to join in and tell me what they'd like the goals to be -- if they agree with the ones I've come up with and if they'd like to see others.

This group of goals has to do with our community here on the board and on the internet. After Walt's first heart attack, I was so shook up because it was not clear how long he would be with us.

My first goal was to help us all stay in touch better, and grow our community of people interested in Doc Walt's teachings and the 3LS. I started the monthly enewsletter with health tips and reminders. Some people don't visit the bulletin board regularly and might want to keep in touch and know the news. I knew that Walt wasn't going to be with us forever, so this was also a means to notify people who don't visit the BB regularly of his passing, which I did. We have 1,400 addresses on the enewsletter list now, and a wonderful volunteer editor, Jeanette Pomeroy, who puts most of it together every month. At present, we have to pay a small amount for each newsletter sent; it costs about $14/month.

My second goal with the foundation, one of the most important ones, was create financial means for keeping the bulletin board and website going. In other words, to have money for the website and bulletin board costs if necessary, and admin costs if necessary, and hiring a holistic doctor to help answer medical questions if necessary. The last option, if we couldn't find a volunteer doctor, would probably take quite a bit of money to hire one. Also if Bill couldn't continue to participate, I couldn't do his job and would have needed to pay someone to do it. That can cost a lot, too.

Comments so far?

Thanks,
Jan
