Lymphnode and ultrasound

January 24, 2012 08:03AM
I have had 3-4 swollen lymph nodes for 7 years now. They came up suddenly with some pain. the pain went down in a month but the swelling did not. They are now non tender and mobile. the biggest one being may be about 1-1.5 cm. The location is: Infra-auricular region(just below the left ear lobe). I get some pain, warmness and presssure in the area every few month which subsides in 1-3 months. They have not been increasing in size. I want to know what may be the cause for these, as i or the ENT could not find any visible infection in the ear/nose or throat. also will ultrasound help to check these nodes in this region?
