What's in frozen fish?

Does anybody know what kind of chemicals may be added to fish before it's frozen? I've been buying the grocery store brand(Kroger) of frozen fish lately-all different varieties. The only thing listed under the ingredients list is the fish itself, but I'm getting a congested liver reation from eating it. I always know when my liver gets congested because my legs and right rib cage start itching a lot, and I get a yellow spot on my right middle finger near the knuckle. I'm thinking there must be some preservatives that are being sprayed on the fish after it's caught.

I should note that I'm not eating any high mercury fish, and haven't been eating it long enough to be worried about mercury accumulation.

I'm going to post this on the BB, too.
