there are SO many variables that it is hard to identify specific causation-diet, air, water, plastics, meds, lifestyle-including recreational substances-pot, alcohol, others.

The article mentions smoking separately from pot use. Of course, since some advocates say smoking is a preferred delivery system for the med in pot, some pot use IS smoking.

Smoking, even if it is oregano or dried banana peels or cloves reduces the oxygen mix that our bodies are generally acknowledged to need to live. What are we breathing in?- whether we are talking city air, incense, perfume, or the various components of different kinds of cigarettes? William Dufty, in Sugar Blues, reported that sugar cured tobacco (more common in american cigarettes of his time) had negative health resul;ts that non-sugar cured tobacco did not.

and ALL medical substances, whether aspirin, non-aspirin subs, antibiotics, vaccines, or other things we commonly choose to put in our bodies, need to be considered.

Many articles out there recently on diet sodas-increasing stroke risk, increasing the affect of alcohol (like as a liquor mixer). And, of course, it's never divided out as to which articficial sweeteners are in the diet sodas. Are we talking stevia, xylitol, and monkfruit? Or the bigger selling ones.
Is it an effect of the specific sweetener or is it an effect of our bodies' reactions and preparation to deal with dietary sweet when the stuuf, sugar, fruit, or other, hits our tongue. Our tastebuds maybe inform our salivary glands which inform the endocrine system to release stuff to deal with sugar. If we aren't sending down sugar, does it mess us over?

Don't know.

Anybody?
