I buy books at library sales, thrift stores, and dollar tree (everything is a dollar there).

I recently bought the above book at Dollar Tree- you might find a copy there. The guy is a liberal, worked on lots of political campaigns (paid), worked in the Carter White House.
Saw both Carter and Goldwater (who surprised him) as being honest men.
The story includes growing up abused and becoming alcoholic and drugs use. Blackouts and the times he should've died, but didn't.
And , after a VERY LONG time, finding some peace after a lot of relapses.

The guy has a good attitude, lots of survival skills, and the book provides a lot of insight into a political world of our times.

He's still a liberal and loves his conservative brother.

He's about getting by, but also getting along.

I had never heard of him until I came across this book, but I'll read ANYTHING interesting looking for a dollar.
