Adrenals Summary & Q&A Archive The idea in aerobic exercise is to do the
exercise long and hard enough to use up all the oxygen circulating in your
bloodstream to get into your "second wind" (to kick in a little-used alternate
metabolic pathway which is a much more efficient oxygen transfer system), then to
keep going a few minutes. That's actually when the major benefits of aerobic exercise
actually accrue, during the activity done using one's second wind. AF - Atrial Fibrillation

Attitude: "Attitude is Everything."
OLMD definition of attitude: "An enduring, learned
predisposition to behave in a consistent way toward a given class of objects, or
a persistent mental and/or neural state of readiness to react to a certain class
of objects, not as they are but as they are conceived to be."
WTSWYTTYS on attitude: "You will become what you think about
most: your success or failure in anything, large or small, will depend on your
programming - what you accept from others, and what you say when you talk to
yourself."
Doc Brown in the movie Back To the Future: "Your
future is not created yet, so make it a Great one!"
Optimism is magic. When we are optimistic, not only do we find our experiences rising to match our expectations, we keep energy moving, feel good, and are appreciated by others. In a similar vein, we have only to visualize good health, strength and vitality to begin developing more of it in our lives. We can affect every cell in our beings by positively visualizing what we desire.

Acceptance, Steps to
The well known way that ALL new things
become known and accepted:
First they are ridiculed as foolishness.
Next they are attacked as false and misleading
quackery.
Finally, they are accepted as true and that
everyone had known it all the time.
Another way of putting it:

First it is ridiculed,
Then it is violently opposed,
Then it is taken as self-evident"

Acid Reflux
Acid
Reflux is stomach acid coming back up the throat, causing pain, and sometimes
causing tissue damage. See GERD.
Acidophilus, Walt's advice for buying and using
it:
First of all, ALL acidophilus products are the pure germs and can be used topically OR internally. All of them that are on the market are the normally occurring ones for a healthy colonic (or vaginal) ecology. There is not "one for
candida and another for something else". All normal germs are helpful against the susceptibility to candida by maintaining a healthy
ecology (the opposite of Dysbiosis).
>From Metagenics, the names for the most effective ones Walt knows of are Ulterdophilus and Ultrabifidus. Call (800) 522-6382 for the places near you that carry their product. If there is none, tell them
Walt Stoll recommended you to them and to sell it directly to you. If they give you problems, tell them to discuss it directly with Jim Shaddle (Vice President of the company in charge of Metagenics Midwest--the number I gave you.) It will come in dry ice shipping.
The only ones that I KNOW are alive are the ones by Klair and Metagenics and they would be in the refrigerator. Any place that does not know these simple facts is not a place you want to shop for stuff like this.
Walt says acne is caused by imbalances in
the normal hormonal matrix that makes up us all. Women have several hormonal
stressors that men do not: pregnancy, menopause, menses, nursing, and a
generally more responsive hormonal net than men have. ANYONE with acne past
puberty has to have a glandular imbalance that is showing as acne as just the tip
of the iceberg of what effect this glandular/hormone imbalance will have on the rest of their health for the
rest of their lives. Even if you could totally eliminate the acne with a pill,
all you would be doing is turning off the message your
bodymind is trying to
send you about the iceberg. See Individualized Response to Hormonal Imbalance.
Walt's "cure" for acne
is to take the pressure off the hypothalamic fight or flight storage. To do
that, the single most important thing to do is SR. However, a whole foods
diet, the E-diet and/or therapeutic doses of food supplements
and essential
oils, and aerobic exercise greatly magnify the effect of SR; and so most people will see faster
results by doing all three. These are the 3 legs of the wellness stool so often
mentioned here.
Dr. Kim's suggestions on acne: The skin is an indicator of what is going on underneath it.
The major pre-disposing factors for acne:
a. Diet high in refined carbohydrates.
b. Hormonal insufficiency (especially with adolescent acne).
c. Excess iron in the diet.
d. Insufficient vitamin A and E in the diet.
e. Insufficient zinc and magnesium in the diet.
Dr. Kim's Dietary Suggestions relating to acne would be to:
a. Drink at least 8 full glasses of pure water daily (avoid well water and water containing chlorine and
fluoride).
b. Eliminate fried foods, refined carbohydrates (NO SUGAR!) and dairy products (except butter).
c. Avoid iron cooking utensils and iron containing supplements.
d. Increase raw foods high in fiber, as well as raw nuts and seeds.
e. Eliminate all hydrogenated fats and oils. Use fresh and raw oils.
Make sure you take a good multi-vitamin/mineral product and a good flax oil
product. He has also used Thymex and Spanish Black Radish from Standard Process with good results.
Homeopathically, Ledum Pelustre is a remedy to investigate. He has had several patients do excellent with it.
In acupuncture, fine needles are inserted at specific points in the body to stimulate, disperse, and regulate the flow of Chi, or vital energy, through the body, and to restore a healthy energy balance. Often used in the US for pain relief, acupuncture is also used to improve well-being and to treat
acute, chronic, and degenerative conditions.
Acute Vs Chronic
Acute: Occurring over a short period of time, or lasting a short time. As
opposed to Chronic: Persisting over a long period of time, or recurring. Allopathic
medicine is good at treating acute illness, but abysmal at treating chronic
illness.

As the old saw goes: "There is an alternative to aging. Die young." The purpose of holistic medicine is to die at an advanced age,
but still to be functionally as young as possible. Dr. Friese's research has demonstrated (for 20 years)
that a simple wellness program--as described on this BB-- not only extends life measurably, but MUCH more significantly, greatly improves the
functionality of the last 1/3 of life.

An epidemic disease ostensibly caused by an infection
by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1, HIV-2), a retrovirus that causes immune

tuberculosis. AIDS is spread through direct contact with bodily fluids.
Walt says: Wellness is still the best way to keep exposure from
retroviruses causing elevated HIV antibodies and, once the HIV is positive, keeping THAT condition from progressing to frank AIDS.
Remember, only about one in ten people exposed to the AIDS virus actually become HIV positive, even if they do nothing. That means that nearly everyone with 10 exposures will become HIV positive UNLESS they are practicing
wellness.

Technique" by Robert Rickover.
All Chronic Illnesses stem from a single source
Walt has been trying for years to get people to understand that CFS, is the same as
Chronic EBV, is the same as FMS, is the same as
FibroMyalgia, is the same as hypoglycemia,
thyroid problems, arthritis, LGS,
etc.
THEY are all, basically, due to the accumulation of chronic stress-effect in the
hypothalamus which changes the function of the hypothalamus--depending on the genetic
susceptibility of the individual.
In other words, depending on your genes, the exact same causes might present as arthritis,
thyroid conditions, CFS,
colitis, hypertension, etc
(Classical) A state of hypersensitivity induced by
exposure to a particular antigen (allergen) resulting in harmful immunologic
reactions on subsequent exposures, the term is usually used to refer to
hypersensitivity to an environmental antigen (atopic allergy or contact
dermatitis) or to drug allergy. See LGS and CRS for causes and
Wellness for
permanent cure. Allergies do not affect the palms of the hands.
In this site, we expand the useful definition past the classical limited allergy
definition above, defining allergy as an abnormal response to a food, drug or something in our environment that usually does not cause symptoms in most people.
Also we can view an allergy as anything that weakens the body’s energy system.
Allopathic Medicine
Originally coined by homeopathic physician Samuel Hahnemann in the 19th Century,
the term allopathic medicine is derived from Greek roots meaning "other
than the disease." The term is used most often today to refer to
conventional medical practice, as opposed to alternative modalities such as
homeopathy, herbal medicine, etc.
A brainwave ranging from 8-12 Hertz. Alpha is a state of light relaxation. Not a sleep state, but usually reflective of a calm, focused mind. Alpha is sometimes called the "superlearning state" because the brain seems to be more receptive and open to new information. Alpha is also considered ideal for creative brain-storming. Most
meditation occurs in this state.

An entire little "brain" unto itself. A control system of two types of
nervous systems that actually oppose
each other in their actions. When we are under stress,
the activating aspect of this system, the sympathetic nervous system evokes the responses characteristic of the
"fight-or-flight" response:
it increases pulse and blood pressure, cools the
skin, causes sweating, activates the production of sugar, pupils dilate, and the digestive system is put on hold.
Conversely, the parasympathetic nervous system, the quieting aspect of the ANS, counteracts these actions by slowing down the
body, including: slowing the heart, constricting the pupils, stimulating the gut and salivary glands, and other responses that are not a priority when being "chased by a tiger". The state of the body at any given time represents a balance between these two systems.
Antacids and mineral deficiencies
Antacids, by reducing the acidity of the stomach, prevent your system from absorbing
nearly ALL minerals. Taking any antacid routinely, virtually guarantees that the person will eventually become deficient in minerals.

Something that prevents the skin from sweating.
Why NO ONE Should Use Antiperspirants:
Walt has assisted at surgery for total excision of the arm pit skin with skin graft to cover the huge empty space----ALL due to the use of antiperspirants.
Antiperspirants work by causing the little ducts to the sweat glands to pucker up
and hold the sweat in. This eventually causes permanent damage, let alone the infections caused by the gland not being able to drain properly. Of course, this does not happen to everyone, which is why
antiperspirants are still on the market. It does happen to too large a number
of people for the public to not know about it.
Let me use this opportunity to help educate the public about body odor. Sweat does not HAVE an unpleasant odor!!!!!! It is only when the skin bacteria have had a chance to munch on it for a while that the waste products FROM THE BACTERIA start to smell bad.
People that use an antibacterial soap (Dial, Phase III, Safeguard, P300, etc.) keep the bacterial count on their skin pretty low. If one has never done this, they should take a bath twice a day for a few weeks to get
the bacteria under control, and then once a day is enough.
Also, any clothing will be contaminated with these same bacteria, so using the same clothes 2 days in a row is a risk. Even using the same bath towel twice recontaminates the skin and should be avoided for at least 6 months (perhaps forever).
People who follow these simple directions will not have a body odor (UNLESS they are sick & need metabolic detoxification).
The unpleasant emotional state consisting
of psychophysiological responses to anticipation of real or imagined danger.
A form of anemia in which the bone marrow fails
to produce adequate numbers of peripheral blood elements. This type of anemia is, perhaps, the most severe one can have since it is caused by a shutdown of the person's ability to MAKE
blood cells. That means that, even if all the necessary nutrients are present, the factory cannot make them into cells.
The only known, conventional, solution is repeated blood transfusions.
Eventually even that will not help, and the person dies. There are medications that will help for a while, but it is really whipping a deadly tired horse. Eventually, they will not work
because the horse is dead.
It is now known that the most common cause of this condition is MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) and how early in life
this happens to an individual is genetically determined. A good
Clinical Ecologist can likely help a person avoid such
toxins.
Nearly all aplastic anemia patients die of a complication of the disease - not
from the disease itself. With aplastic anemia the body does not make immune cells just like it does not make red cells. SO the person's immunity goes WAY down. The standard way to treat a person with aplastic anemia in a hospital is just like
treating someone with AIDS. They need isolation from the germs already in the hospital, or it is not safe for them to
even BE in the hospital.

Auditory Beats in the Brain AKA Binaural
Beats AKA Brainwave
Entrainment
Several scientists had noticed the effect of pulsating light and sound stimuli on brainwave patterns as early as 1910. But it wasn't until the early 1970's that neuroscientists confirmed that with the use of sound it is possible to stimulate the brain to move to or through any of the four main brainwave
states (Beta, Alpha, Theta
and Delta).
In 1973, Dr. Gerald Oster of Mt. Sinai Medical Center published a paper called "Auditory Beats in the Brain" identifying a characteristic of the brain in which the brain would resonate to the frequency difference between two tones presented to opposite
ears (typically using stereo headphones). Because the brain hemispheres are not entirely separate, but connected, they actually respond to these two tones by producing a third tone representing the difference between the two original tones. Here's an example:
Tone of 230 Hz played to right ear. Tone of 240 Hz played to left ear:
Difference = 10 Hz. (Alpha State)
So by using the above two tones, a calm alpha brainwave state can be created for the listener. This same process -- called Brainwave Entrainment - can be used to create virtually any brainwave pattern desired. Today, this technique is used as a means of achieving meditative states in personal
growth (See SR), in treatment therapies for learning disabilities like dyslexia and attention
deficit (see ADD), and in many other approaches to improving mental functioning and enhancing well-being.
There is also a dual-binaural beat technology that does not require the use of
headphones, but uses ordinary speakers.

Autogenics
One form of Skilled Relaxation. A
systematic program to teach your body and mind to respond quickly and
effectively to verbal commands to relax and to return to a balanced, normal
state. Autogenic training consists of imagining a peaceful environment and comforting bodily sensations. Six basic focusing techniques are used: heaviness in the limbs, warmth in the limbs, cardiac regulation, centering on breathing, warmth in the upper abdomen, and coolness in the forehead.
Autoimmunity happens then the immune system mistakenly starts attacking our own tissues.
Since those attacks are very specific--the way the immune system is designed to work--thyroid tissue, joints, connective tissue, blood elements, etc., are
normally attacked in isolation even though the basic problem is autoimmunity. Walt says: ALL autoimmune conditions are
basically caused by the same mechanisms: that of Bracing followed by
LGS and
frequently complicated by CRS and parasitosis. Finally, environmental
hypersensitivities cause the damage, and they are made possible (even
inevitable) by the processes described above.
These are those foods that are

that should be tested following the Elimination diet as many will generate
symptoms.
