Hi y'all,
First, I have tried lots of things to deal with my allergies, including healing a leaky gut TWICE, NATE therapy, etc.
I have a bona fide ALLERGY to rice as documented on my Immunolabs report, so it was NOT an insensitivity.
Recently I read that soaking rice prior to cooking can help with digestion (Weston Price fans know this about all grains and seeds), so I thought I'd give it a shot. After rinsing I soaked my rice overnight, then cooked it just now. (Use less water than usual if you soak your rice; instructions are online, but generally for long-grain white rice it's about 1-1/4 cups of H2O per cuppa rice.) When it was done I only salted and peppered it so as not to confuse the issue by adding other ingredients (I'm allergic to dairy, so butter was not an option.)
I ate TWO saucer-sized platefulls.
Guess what!! NOTHING. No runny eyes, no sneezing, NOTHING.
Next I will try brown rice, which has more rice protein than the white. ;)
This is great because rice is CHEAP, and after having been laid off last year and then having my pay cut thrice at my new job I need the break.
(Please no lectures about healing the gut; I know that, just haven't gotten around to it with working two jobs.)
I hope this helps someone else.
