My period came on schedule but started with brownish blood (old blood?) and the flow never really got going. Just a few drops here and there of really red (new) blood. I have fibroids which do not cause me pain but have increased my flow in recent years -- nothing awful. I am 46 and otherwise in good health as far as I know and not overweight. In the past I have been told that my progesterone is low during the luteal phase but my cylces are regular (on the long side of normal -- 33 to 38 days which I like). I also do not experience cramps so did not want to mess around with hormones since I'm really not in any discomfort with my periods other than a bit of water retention which goes away after the bleed. I do take small amounts of thyroid hormone and fell well and labs are normal. My doc goes by how I feel in conjunction with labs -- does not rely on labs solely at all.Are lighter than normal periods anything to be worried about??
