My husband was standing in the kitchen and noticed that his shorts were soaked -- he seemed to have urinated without feeling a sense of urgency. At the time, he said he was holding in a bowel movemement. The shorts did not smell and the fluid was like water so we are assuming it was urine. He said it's only happened 2 or 3 times before and the amounts were much smaller. The back of his shorts were soaked. He is 55 and very athletic -- no abdominal fat and very muscular. He had a vasectomy 13 years ago and maybe 20 plus years ago surgery for inguinal hernia. He has never had any abnormal PSA or abnormal rectal exam at his physicals. I believe last physical was maybe a year and a half ago. He has internal hemmorhoids. Could the fluid have come from his anus? Sorry if this is gross/graphic but he is very worried as am I. Could this simply be benign prostate enlargement? He only gets up to urinate maybe once during the night. He does get urgency occassionally but also drinks lots of fluid because he has an active job and works out daily as well.
