Hi-
First, almost three years ago I had a lot of hand pain-sore joints and went to our MD at the time. Nothing "positive" in my blood panel for Arthritis so they told me it was temporary, related to an infection (we had had colds that's it). Occasionally (rarely) since then I have had joint pain in my hands...like my joints are "knocking together". It passes.
Now, about a month ago I scraped a finger while pulling out some old carpet at my church and within the next few days I knocked my middle finger against the wall---PAIN! (not sure if this caused it or hurt because my joints were already flaring up)....since then I have have sore achy joints in my fingers-moves around. I have three that have little knots on them.
I have Dr. Stoll's two books. Please reference something in here-maybe I missed or misunderstood.
two weeks ago I started eating really limited whole foods (no sugar, no flour, no milk no red meat...lots of fish and veg.)and have added supplements including glucosmine/chondroitin, fish oils, flax, borage MSM Magnesium B6 and C.
I have also been doing my skilled relaxation. I must confess only once a day.
I have two small children and I am 35 so I don't want to go down this path.
I also walk on my treadmill several times a week.
I had felt bloating weeks ago and this diet has relieved that (3 inches gone from my waist in this short time).
Sorry for so much detail....
What am I missing-how do I know when I need to adjust what I am doing? Do I need to get the blood tests for RA again? Anything else? This is scary and of course I am willing to put in the work but any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
