Put simply, endorphins produce euphoria and relieve pain. In my case exercise does not and has not ever produced a high. Laughing, sex, being social, talking to people, all are relatively unpleasurable for me, all of which are meant to release endorphins.

Leaky gut, or gluten/casein intolerance, makes the body produce opioid like chemicals from the foods you eat, that act similiar to endorphins in your body. From what I have read I'm assuming that these chemicals either block the natural endophins from doing thier job, or possibly over saturate the brain and body with endorphins. This is one theory of the social dysfunctions associated with autism, as normal people seek out social relationships with endorphin fueled motivation, where as people with autism already are overloaded with endorphins to a toxic level and so do not have any motivation to be social, and have many sensory dysfuctions.

I have severe treatment resistant depression and anxiety, but also display many symptoms of autism. I have tried pretty much all antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds, supplements, exercise, diets, treatments. I have given weight to both alternative treatments and conventional allopathic treatments, have tried to keep an open mind the whole time. To this day however I am still not sure what is wrong with me and have never found a treatment that hit the nail on the head for me. As far as the 3LS goes I have been doing SR everyday for about 2 months now and still struggle with it. I exercise everyday also, and eat healthy. I feel more stable yet still totally socially dysfunctional and depressed.

So, I guess my question is can SR normalise endorphin production eventually if done correctly every day? Or should I be trying to convince my docter to allow me to do some other treatment. Do you need endorphins to get to the relaxation response or is it the other way around? Any other suggestions people can give me?
