My mother-in-law was put on a calcium channel blocker a few months ago (she has moderate regurgitation from the mitral and tricuspid valves and didn't do well on beta-blockers.) Now, when I visited I noticed she also takes calcium supplements and it got me thinking: is there any contra-indication with taking calcium while on a calcium channel blocker? She needs the calcium as she's very close to having osteoporosis.
