I went to the nearest women's clinic when I found a hard something
or other in my breast. It's not exactly a lump, more like a tiny piece
of grit only not quite as hard as rock. The doctor examined my
breast and freaked out when she touched my armpit. She said she
felt a lymph node and ran, literally, downstairs, to make sure I could
take a mammogram or however it's spelled, tomorrow. She sounded
like she was scared and spoke like I was dieing. I am really afraid.
The clinic says that regular mammograms take 8 xrays of the breast,
but diagnostic ones take at least twice that many. This sounds like
crazy shit to me. How is radiating a breast safe?
I have Grave's disease, although I don't have any symptoms left now
other than my eyes are still a little swollen and I do get swollen
lymph nodes once in a while. If I don't touch them, the swelling goes
away. I told her this but she acted like she was deaf and I was about
to die.
I want to know if I have cancer, but I don't want to risk radiating my
breast if it is dangerous. Please tell me what you think. I'm not
asking for a diagnosis, but your experience and opinion would be
helpful. Is there a way to tell if I have cancer without taking a
mammogram?
