since many here eat whole foods, do many have a lot of gas? I don't go after anything I don't like, and when I tried to increase fiber, being scared by the Cancer Assn., saying that high fiber decreases the risk of colon cancer, I got rectal bleeding, and I only added things like lettuce and wheat bread.

I have an E friend who eats a lot of veggies, and fruit that he grows, and claims he has a LOT of gas, and wondered if that was why? I rarely have gas, and the only times, I can usually blame it on tainted food that didn't agree. No food seems to cause it, not even beans. My friend seems to make a hobby of farting, and thinks Everyone should or does, and said he probably does 150 times/day. He told me I must do it subconsciously.)) He is a history buff, and Idolizes Ben Franklin, and sent me a link to a writing of Franklin's, "Fart Proudly". If I eat something that gives me gas, I will try to avoid it. I had some gas the other nite, and think it was from eggs I bought recently, since they didn't seem to sit that well. The next day I had eaten a cheese steak sandwich that I got at a friends shop. I usually just get them with fried onions, but he had an order for 3 with mushrooms that was made by mistake. I was buying 3, and he asked me if I would take them, and I agreed. I got a little gas right after eating the sandwich. I like mushrooms and they never caused any problems, but never got anything with them there, so not sure if the eggs were the delayed cause, or the shrooms. I ate another half cheese steak after, and no more gas, so have to try the eggs again.

My E friend can't believe I rarely have gas, and thinks I am lieing.)) I had one hound who got gas if I gave it swiss cheese, but no other type, so I just stopped feeling that one. I won't hold gas in like my friend thinks people do, and because I only seem to have it when eating something bad, and it can cause pain. I avoid the foods again if I can.
