blood in urine

I went to doc yesterday for a checkup & my urine test came back showing blood in urine but no bacteria or infection. I am post menopausal & my urethra is very irritated & red from lack of estrogen. Could the blood be from the urethra, interstitial cystitis, or could I have injured my bladder? Thanks.
