When you buy magnesium, look at the list of ingredients.
Magnesium oxide is cheap, and manufacturers use it in multivitamins. But it is bulky, so they can't put very much in. It is not absorbed very well.
Look for magnesium glycinate or one of the forms that end in "ate."
Source Naturals Ultra-Mag is good, with magnesium citrate, taurinate, malate, glycinate and succinate.
Peter Gillham's Calm is good, with magnesium citrate.
